2013 was a big year for me and my little ol’ blog. I had been posting sporadically until April 2013 when I started blogging again with a gusto. I made the big switch from Blogger to WordPress with only a few head pounding on the wall “why is this not working!! ” moments. My sewing machine got a lot of use as I took on a wardrobe refashion and also did some guest posting refashions for Brassy Apple. In October I found out that I was chosen to be on the Fall/Winter Silhouette Design team for their blog. I have been LOVING it. Enough of this talk though, let’s cut to the chase and share the top posts from 2013!! I am breaking these down into the top 5 most popular posts and then 5 of my picks from each of the categories I typically make DIY projects for.
This stuff is good. Like kids finish their bowls and ask for more good. It is so easy and fast to make. Great side dish to add to your dinner menu.
My all time top post is the 3D cardboard star I made. I finally found the star that I used and digitized it the pattern for it. Plus I figured out how to cut a cardboard cereal box with my Silhouette Cameo.
This recipe came about as I saw a few salted caramel frosted cupcakes on Pinterest. The lazy and impatient girl in me didn’t want to make the caramel myself so I cheated and made my own recipe using a bag of caramels.
As part of my Wardrobe Revamp and Refashion, I did a refashion tutorial based on the Anthropologie Pattern Pop Tee.
If you are heading on a Disney vacation, you (and your kids) will love this Disney Countdown chain with a Free Mickey ears PDF download.
If you follow my blog you know that I do a ton of tutorials. That is because I don’t want my blog to be a show off blog, but more of a share how to do things so everyone can give it a try kind of blog. It was hard to choose my favorite tutorial but I decided to go with a this pretty garbage can since it involves some of my favorite things-refashioning and my Silhouette CAMEO.
I chose this one for my food pick because it is scrumptious and scrumptious things deserve a little more attention.
Even though it was BLAZING and unbearably hot, I picked my 4th of July Bike Parade as my party of choice.
For the sewing category I went with this DIY fringe pillow that I made. I have loved using it for fall decor but I fully intend on using it other times of the year as well!
I have definitely revved up my refashions this year! This one showcases my miner obsession with leather during 2013 and it is pretty darn cute.
Bottom line people is that I love to make things. You know who else loves to make things? These lovely ladies below! I have teamed up with these other fun bloggers who are showing their top posts of 2013. Click on the pics below to go to their blogs and see what they have been up to this past year!
