Pottery Barn Inspired Mr. Darcy Valentines Day Plate

Ahhh. Mr. Darcy. Swoon. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books and movies (both the long and the regular length versions).   What a romantic idea by the good people at Pottery Barn.  I have seen a some versions of this inspiring dish on a few blogs now and I had to try my hand at it. I didn’t realize what a pain it would be for me! I haven’t used adhesive vinyl much and for some reason those little letters were getting the best of me.  Despite it all I prevailed and adhered them to the plate.  I had also cut out the citation in smaller letters but after the “bigger” ones gave me such a hassle I decided that it was good enough.

Here is the plain plate.   I picked it up at D.I. for $.50.  Not bad. The inside of the plate is 3 1/2 inches wide so it is a little plate – perfect for trinkets and such.

And of course the beautiful inspiration dish from Pottery Barn.
