It is that time of year where I live to start planting gardens. My garden always starts out well but then I get lazy and weeds start to creep up and vegetables go unpicked. Once again I am starting off strong and I even made some garden markers for my plants. We shall see how long it lasts! I did something similar for my herb pots that you can see here. I followed a similar route and used a pop can for these garden markers. I first saw the idea of using a pop can as a tag from Positively Splendid. It is a great medium because of how easy it is to stamp the metal letters into.
There were a lot of cute garden markers that I saw on Pinterest and other blogs but I was looking for something a little more rustic and I didn’t want to use wood. I remembered the pop can herb tags and thought I could try it out for my garden.
I needed something to attach the tags to. Not wanting to buy something extra, I ventured out to my garage to shop around instead. I found an old metal trellis and cut it up using wire cutters. I stamped my vegetable names into the tags I had cut with my Epic 6 and attached them to the metal trellis pieces using craft wire. First I wound the wire a few times around the trellis piece, leaving a long tail to wrap around the pop can tag. I wound the leftover wire tail through the tag.
