Sequin Shirt Refashion

This is a tutorial that I shared over at Brassy Apple.  In case you missed it, here it is!

I had been eyeing this Luminescent Top from Anthropologie because I had a grey shirt in my refashion pile that had a similar neckline.   Plus sparkles are meant for holidays right?!

Aztec Stenciled Leggings

DIY Aztec Leggings designed_by Lisa Richards

My daughter goes through leggings like they are disposable or something.  I have tried putting patches on them but she had one pair of white ones that was so dirty and stained that no amount of patches was going to do anything for them.

Aztec Leggings Refashion with Stencil Material

Fortunately Silhouette came out with a new stencil material so I made an aztec stencil and used fabric paint to turn the stained white leggings into aztec leggings!  They turned out so cute that I want a pair too!  If you want to see the full tutorial head over to the Silhouette blog!

DIY Gift Wrap From a Stencil

DIY Stencil Gift Wrap by grey luster girl

I got a sneak peak at one of the new products that Silhouette just introduced this past weekend at CHA!  It is a reusable stamping material.  You can cut any stencil out of it with your Silhouette and use it over and over again.  I played around with it and made this geometric shape that I used to make my own gift wrap.  If you want to see how I did it, I have a more detailed mini tutorial over on the Silhouette blog!

Heart Anchor Pillow

Anchor Heart Pillow Designed by Lisa Richards copy

With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, I have started to slowly get some decorations together.  I wanted to make some Valentine’s home decor but I didn’t want to go gung-ho just yet.  I decided on a pillow using a heart anchor. Definitely Valentine’s day yet subtle enough to take me through a few seasons if needs be.    I first made the pillowcase out of an old blue polo shirt but it was just too bright in my front room so I reverted back to a soft grey color.   I still may show how I made the pillow out of the polo cause it was pretty cool.  We’ll see if I can tone down the color of it somehow.  For now though, go over to the Silhouette blog and check out how I made this Heart Anchor Pillow!
